The grind is pretty consistent and I use it every day with my french press. A big step up from a rotary grinder. I wouldn't pay any more for a coffee grinter. Also, I had to guess at when the coffee was at the right grind and measure the it with a scoop. Now all I have to do is load a pound of coffee in my new Cuisinart Supreme, keep the setting on the number of cups I want to make and press a button to get exactly the amount of coffee I need each day.
